Treatment Screening

The British Acupuncture Council have set out specific criteria for a phased return to normal practice. On the 2nd December we will be moving back into phase 2 from phase 3.

In order to receive treatment, you must be able to meet all of the criteria below. If you are able to do this you can either contact me directly or book an appointment online. Any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

SCREENING FOR TREATMENT

You must answer NO to all of these questions:

1) Have you had a fever within the last 7 days

2) Do you have a persistent dry cough (coughing for more than an hour or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hrs, or a worsening pre-existing cough)

3) Have you been in contact with anyone in the last 14 days who has been diagnosed with Covid-19 or coronavirus-type symptoms.

4) Have you been advised to stay home and self isolate or self quarantine

5) Do you have any other symptoms that could mean that you have a Covid-19 infection

6) Have you been categorised as HIGH RISK or clinically vulnerable

You will be asked these questions again in clinic and asked to sign a consent form to confirm your answers.

Clinic Procedures during your appointment

1. BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Please read through the screening criteria again to ensure that you are not at risk of covid-19. You will be asked to sign a consent form when you arrive at clinic.

This form can be found here and can be printed and completed before your appointment should you wish to use your own pen etc.

If you are a new client we will have done a telephone consultation prior to appointment to cut down on face to face contact time.

2. ARRIVAL AT CLINIC

Please ensure that you arrive at the time of your appointment and not before.

Before entering the treatment room, please wash your hands in the bathroom designated for clients. You will find disposable paper hand towels for drying your hands and hand sanitiser gel also.

You should bring a mask with you or one can be provided in clinic

3. TREATMENT ROOM

All soft fabrics have been removed and replaced with wipeable coverings including the pillow cases. No towels or blankets will be used during treatments instead we will be using disposable towels. You are welcome to bring your own towel should you wish.

4. CONSULTATION & TREATMENT

During the consultation we will maintain 2 metres social distancing & all chairs in the treatment room are cleaned in between clients.

During the treatment itself it will not be possible to maintain the 2 metres social distancing, therefore I will be wearing a mask/visor for our protection when in close proximity. I will remove myself from the room whilst you relax with the needles in.

I am now staggering treatments and leaving a 20 min gap between each patient to thoroughly clean down and make the space as clean and safe as possible.

5. PAYMENT

Payment prior to treatment is the preferred and safest option.  Contactless is also available following treatment.

Cash will still be acceptable for those who do not have contactless or cards.
