New Procedures for Patients during Coronavirus
During the coronavirus outbreak we have made some changes to keep you safe and continue to support your needs with acupuncture.
Before your appointment
We will talk to you before your appointment to make sure you are well and not in a high-risk group for Covid-19. If we decide it is not safe for you to come to the clinic we will explain why and arrange to review the situation at a later date.
We ask all visitors to the clinic to maintain a one-metre distance from other people in the clinic at all times and to wear a face mask.
Please come alone for the appointment unless you require assistance. Inform the practitioner ahead of the treatment session if you do.
If you or someone you live with develops symptoms of Covid-19 around the time of your appointment, please contact the acupuncturist before attending the clinic. You will be excluded from the clinic for a minimum of 7 days after your symptoms start or for 14 days if someone you live with tests positive. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection
We have spaced out patient arrivals and departures so all visitors to the clinic can be socially distanced. Arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment and wait in your car until we ring you. We will do a short screening to make sure its safe for you to come into the clinic. Only take what you need for the appointment – avoid bringing bags etc.
Face mask and respiratory hygiene
Please wear a face mask for your appointment. We can provide one if you forget yours. Let the practitioner know in advance if you have difficulty wearing a mask.
If you need to sneeze or cough while in the clinic, please do so into a disposable tissue and throw it away immediately and clean your hands after doing so. Tissues are provided in the treatment room.
Entering the clinic
We will ask you to use the hand sanitiser and show you to the treatment room.
The waiting room is not being used at the present time. If you can avoid using the toilet facilities that would be helpful – however they are available if you need to use them and are sanitised after use.
You are asked to wear loose fitting clothing for your treatment. Towels will not be available at this time, but you can bring one if you prefer.
The acupuncturist will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) of apron, gloves and face mask for your protection. For certain parts of your treatment we may don protective eyewear.
Where one metre distancing cannot be observed face to face treatment, will be minimised and the treatment session kept to 30 minutes. The treatment room is fully sanitised and ventilated before patients arive.
Payment by card, ideally contactless, is preferred. If you wish to pay by cash, please place the correct amount in a sealed envelope. It will not be possible to provide change at the present time.
You will be asked to use the hand sanitiser when leaving the clinic.
We look forward to welcoming you back into the practice.
